Join the club Owly. I got laid off Friday after seven years. Bright spot is it happened before I moved up to Tulsa for the company, and I have a little bit of scratch built up. If they don't follow their pattern of late and contest my unemployment claim, I should be ok for a while. I absolutely HATE looking for a job. To top it off, the apartment building I'm living in is kicking everyone out so they can refurbish them all. Going to be fun trying to find a new place to live without a job,LoL.

Damn bigz the job market absolutely sucks u should get ur unemployment I rooting fo ya ur very smart tho and should have a little time to set ur self up. Kinda dirty of utvX company to relocate u then lay u off dirty bastards if u ask me. I had plans myself even finally bought me a computer from the pawn shop and it figures I asked and asked if it had a wireless connection and they said ya and not and it requires an administrators pass word to do anything I'm glad I bought the warranty real glad I lost well a lot but I can re-arrange what money I have and get by I'm going to call a bunch of computer relate shops and see if its solvable or take it back its nice and I can keep it and get it fixed if can and finally do things like play this game and expand my vast picture collection. Ill be ok but praying for bigz.....

owly,

A PC shop will cost you a fortune to recover an administrator password. You should be able to do it youself easily enough

Cant you just format the PC and reinstall?

Or are you talking a BIOS admin password?

Owly,

The password prompt, when does it happen?

While the PC is still in the stage of booting up where the background is black and the text white?

or

Once the PC has reached the Log into Windows stage??

Everything I tried it directed me to the administrator thing to sign in :( I was so close to down loaded about a lil over a thousand pictures off my phones and I waited so long to see this silly media player thing that hatama made me but again I needed the password and that and no wireless connection....

Windows Vista and Windows 7 now prompt you for Admin credentials if you try to access certain parts of the file system, or isntall stuff etc.

Try a blank password.

Otherwise something like this might do the job

Normal life for me. Every time I start to do well I get smacked down somehow. I'll get through it, I always do. Just seems less worth the fight as I get older.

Keeps getting better and better. Tolvaj called me this morning and said he really needed to talk to me. Sounded extremely down. He came over and told me that our older brother passed sometime between 2:45 PM Christmas day and I think he said yesterday. Never went back to work after Christmas break and his employer called the police. They did a forced entry and found him in the bathtub. He had copd and failing health, but when I talked to him Christmas day he seemed to be in high spirits, his biggest concern being he couldn't find a place open to get propane for his BBQ. I'm glad his torment over his sexuality is finally over. I'm glad I got to tell him I love him one last time. We'd had such a nice conversation. He said his meds were finally working and how nice it was to breathe. We talked about the time we talked Tolvaj into seeing if he would fit in the dryer. " No Norm, we won't turn it on, honest. We just want to see if you'll fit". Well, he didn't get all the way in so we held the button and turned it on. Man he was pissed, but far too little to do anything about it, LoL. So we then convinced him to get in a second time, promising again that we wouldn't turn it on, and that we only did because he didn't get all the way in. OF COURSE we turned it on and held the door closed.
We laughed like kids again, and it was so long since we did that. Fuck this hurts bad. I didn't realize how much until I started writing this. He would have been 58 this year, and actually had a birthday this year since there are 29 days in February.

I've always loved you Rick, even when we were so far apart. I always will.

Good thing to come out of it I contacted our birth father. Let him know about it. Told him since time now seems shorter than ever, I was open to hearing his side of the story. There's at least three sides to every story. But I admit I will have a tough time of letting go of the fact that he never really tried to get in touch with us, no matter what my mom and step father might have told him. I mean, for fuck's sake, when I was stationed at K-bay he was living on Maui, and never tried to contact me. Maybe I'm naive, but there is no way anyone would keep me from my kids, even if I got put in jail because of it. Been thinking about doing this for several years now. We'll see if he calls me now. It's going to be tough to get beyond all the BS, I still hold quite a grudge over it. I know I need to just let it go and maybe make the best of what's left. I'm going to at least try.

It's going a lot better Owly. Of course that's all a matter of perspective. His HR person from his work was finally able to find his dentist and get the records to the ME so they could ID him. He died in the bathtub and was badly decayed so they couldn't use his fingerprints. CoD was natural causes, but we did find out he was HIV+. His ex is seeming less shady than last week, which is a relief. We still have to head out there next week to take care of his effects. I'm really not looking forward to being in Cali again, but it has to be done. He was also well loved by his co workers and clients, and that is a good thing to know.
