Post here if you'd start playing again for guilds

I'm opening this thread on the back of Tara's post in the where do we go thread. She feels that lots of players will return if a guilded game goes live.

So I'll run a quick test thread for the next couple of months. Get in touch with old players and we'll see what happens.

There needs to be at least 3x reasonable sized guilds per faith to have any fun at all. If 100 different players post in here saying they'll return if we bring guilds back, then I'll bring guilds back.

Please only post in here once, that way the count will actually mean something.

If you cant post in here it's because phpBB highlights the first forum in the list for announcements, that forum is news so you dont have permissions to post in it. This announcement is at the top of every other forum.

With guilds up and running (albeit with a smaller player base than it needs) the posting only once in this thread rule is no longer appropriate (especially as people have ignore it any way ;p)

Kind of goes hand-in-hand with having something to RP about if you're guilded and fighting wars against the heathens and teaching those members of other faiths how to -really- kick butt, take names and write about it on the boards, too.

So yeah, bring back guilds-game, and I'll play. I'm a below-mediocre player but I always give it my best shot.
I was always here for the RP-stories anyway...well that, and maybe the beer...er wait, there never WAS any beer, was there? Must have been the coffee, then!!

I'll throw my own vote into the hat. Of course bring Guilds back.

One of the biggest mistakes ever made was the removal of Guilds, as that particular game / forum was THE HEART of this place.

I don't recall why it was removed, and I am sure it was done with good reason or at least good intent but it should be brought back. Many people here loved RPing and joining factions and have wars against heathens and what not. I would say it was the major reason why most people played.

P.S. I think getting 100 people to vote in favor is a pretty high threshold to meet at this time. The forum / game is pretty dead and are there even 20 people posting anymore? I understand that it will take a lot of work to bring Guilds back and a considerable time investment, but I would consider reducing the number required to approve this motion. The Admin should be in favor of doing something to reinvigorate the game, and not throw up artificial barriers to prevent it.

less than 100 players in a guilded game will just be pointless. That in itself is just 3x 11 member guilds per faith. It'll get repetetive quickly. Guilds wasn't closed as such, it was just never opened when we started the new site due to numbers.

There are things being done, I am in the process of getting some artwork to make the place look a bit more inviting.

My friends and I used to play this game in 8th grade. We started the guild, I think it was called "Katana" under Angelique. Bdeiphius and muffytown were the other handlers. My name was MethodMan. We had some great times playing this game. We spent many hours in class organizing attacks, and discussing build strategies. I'm curious if any players from that time are still around. I remember The Black Hand was a strong Barnabas guild. There were small elite guilds, and larger formidable guilds. Great times. In any event, I'm glad to see the game is back in some form. I would certainly be tempted to start back up again (under my proper name). Does anyone have records for some of the guild rankings from 1999-2000?

TEO - good to see ya man, the "100 people" thing wasn't an artificial barrier to anything, check out the other thread here in domination forum and you'll see it was more like Kaz saying "we'd need like 100 people for a guilded game to work" and I posted jokingly thinking to myself, "I just found our old ICQ numbers, I could stalk 100 people" and that was it ... until Chains came around sayin, "let's make it 500!" I was like duuuude, that's ALOT more stalking an'a spamming of people to do.

And don't think of "a guilded game" as in "Guilds" or not "Guilds", so all of us Roleplayers that didn't play Guilds but stayed in 'Pri, or Maxim, or Covenant, or whatever because no one RPed in Guilds, need to get over that, there will be RP, from what Kaz has going it could be game-storyline-making RP, it'll be more than awesome.

If 100 people were playing, which I think is still small, I might give it a go again, but I'll be honest if I come back I'd only come back under the Goblin banner and alot of people where not a fan of that.

I'd probably play guilds and have a better chance to stay if it was here. I'd love a Turmoil/Chaos/etc but these days no way 8 kingdoms would be maintained. Guilds might be a fun replacement.
