I love her voice, energy, and phrasing. And she's not too awfully hard to look at either. Most of the lyrics are written by her as well.

If we're suggesting new bands, I'll put a couple of my mates bands into the hat.

Deep Cut are due to release their second album soon, and played this years Glastonbury on the BBC Introducing stage. The band includes Mat Flint (Revolver & Death in Vegas), Ian Button (Thrashing Doves & Death in Vegas), Mat's brother brother Si and a couple of my oldest mates, Emma (Mat's wife) and my mate Pad (Emmas little brother).

Real Sound are as yet still unsigned and consist of Pad (Deep Cut) and his big brother Chris, thier girlfriends Louise and Bianca, and Pad's best mate Jez.

Since that damn Nether got me to wading through You tube I stumbled across a gal that may be new to you, certainly new to me(though I've seen her name a lot and heard other artists cite her endlessly for years). Does a lot of covers of classics, 1920's through at least the 70's.

Ok, so once again I find myself wandering around on YouTube listening to stuff. One thing leads to another, as it always seems to, and I see Flyleaf has covered "Something I can never have". I haven't listened to a lot of Flyleaf but I'm kinda diggin' what I have heard, so I figure what the hell, give it a try. Not great, not bad. Anyway, I'm reading the comments as I tend to, and I see a comment on the song being over twenty years old. WTF!!!? I didn't "discover" NiN until like '92, whereupon "Pretty Hate Machine" didn't leave my CD cartridge for at least a full year. The CD changer in my bus and my changer at home took the same cartridges so it would go from the bus to the house. Same with "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" by the Chili Peppers. TWENTY DAMN YEARS PEOPLE! So I look it up and it was released in October of '89. Twenty two years! That's getting pretty close to a third of my lifetime. I mean. I KNOW it was 20+ years in my head. But I just can't seem to reconcile that FACT. I was still listening to it a lot when I met you folks, six or seven years later when you came out of NPP in Outcast at between 1150 and 1200. Fuck! Where did the time go? I was plucking the first gray hairs out of my chin then. Now if I wanted to have it all the same color I would have to pluck the few remaining blond hairs. I'm suddenly feeling REALLY damn old. I think I hate YouTube as of today.

It's not officially released on iTunes etc until the 5th of September but you can pre-order direct from the label (who started shipping pre-orders on Monday). Got my copy today and it's genius.

If thought very long about how long ago it was that my friends and I pretended the badminton raquets were guitars and we were the Beatles( I was always George lol) I'd probably just end it all. I call most of the music from the fifties oldies. At least half of the sixties, and even some of the crap from the seventies I also consider oldies. I sincerely hope I am gone by the time Pretty Hate Machine is considered an oldie but moldy.
