Yo momma
If word gets out that I'm missing, 500 girls will kill themselves and I wouldn't want them on my conscience - not when they ought to be on my face!
Re: Riddle me this
LOL. If I was drinking something that would have definitely went all over keyboard, desk, monitor, phones, and a bunch of documents I need to clear off my desk.
But seriously any quesses? I'm trying to prove a friend wrong... She believes no one will be able to answer this riddle because no one will "get it". Not in terms of ease of the riddle but in terms of structure and languge used. FYI, she didn't have the answer.
I can tell you now, it's not zombies. That was her quess. Based more on my interests than the riddle itself.

Re: Riddle me this
My second guess would be the answer is 'death'.

Re: Riddle me this
i would assume its "fire", first part referring to dead wood, second part fresh wood, and the third part being water. though i admit its a bit oddly worded.
my other answer would Nyz'xah'gyo, demon lord of the 8th pit!

Re: Riddle me this
Yup it's fire.
The point of contention was that my friend said i should use destroys instead of kills. I thought that kills fit better with the life/death motif.
Did you get the Gift of Life was water without looking at the variation? I thought that was a pretty common phrase for water until this morning.
Overall good riddle? Bad riddle? Or so-so riddle?

Re: Riddle me this
Actually fire kills it, it sucks the oxygen out of the wood which is how it 'breathes'.
At least I think thats what I remember from that class that taught us about arson.

we just had to pick it up as went
i dunno how well the word smoulders fits in though. if anything it gives away the riddle too easily because its a word only really associated with fire.
Re: Riddle me this
Some riddles don't translate well to text.
Like
What is black, white and read all over?
When speaking the riddle, the one hearing the riddle hears "What is black, white and red all over"
Anyways, Fire was my guess as well.
Apparently it isn't a good riddle.
What have I got in my pocket?

Re: Riddle me this
A hole so you can have something to play with at Christmas like all the other kids?
OK, let's see if I can remember this one..
In marbled halls as white as milk
Lined in a skin as soft as silk
In a fountain crystal clear
A golden apple doth appear
There are no doors to this stronghold
Yet thieves break in and steal the gold

How did someone realize you could milk a cow? And what the hell did they think they were doing to the cow in the first place?!

Re: Riddle me this
Someone suggested I change smolder to smother. Does that work better?
But thanks guys, you proved my friend wrong. She didn't think anyone would get it.
(even if the riddle was bad hehe)

A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said "twelve." The member replied "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said "six." The member replied "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said "ten" and the man replied "five." but he was not let in. What should have he said?
And I never even got my own damn posting title!

Re: Riddle me this
Nagash is right, so the next riddle is his.
[edit]The answer is the number of letters in the word the doorman said. Ergo, "ten" equals "three".[/edit]

Re: Riddle me this
mmm, good one.
I was thinking 12+6=18
6x3=18
10+8=18
Basically what number would it take to get to 18 regardless of whether you were adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.
