keyboard/mouse issues
ok so this is weird, i know
i have the strangest problems with computers
anyway i have a logistics cordless keyboard/mouse, that ive used for months and months
they both take batterys, which ive replaced a thousand times to try and fix this
anyway.
my keyboard works fine. the mouse doesnt though.
it used to , then when we moved, it just stopped working completely
ive used diff batteries ive tried running virus scans, ive tried restoring to an earlier date<cause i think it almost has to have a virus> but nothing works
the keyboard still works just fine, but the mouse wont work
ok so here is the really weird thing
i had to plug in a regular usb mouse.
it works fine to
EXCEPT, it will not copy paste or let me do any of that stuff u use when u right click EXCEPT when i copy to notepad
its insane.
help?
again, ive ran all the virus/spybot/adaware/ fixit /microsoft program fixes etc.
wth is wrong with it?
honestly id just be happy if the regular usb mouse would copy paste.

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
Use shortcuts to copy-paste
Anyhow, judging from your post, your keyboard has some serious issues too. It messes up your spelling badly.

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
I've not had one for a while, but don't cordless mice have some kinda button you gotta press either on them...or on the reciever or quite possibly both to "sync" them together? Or did i make that up.

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
They should, and I was going to post that as well, but then I figured he'd have tried everything, which should include reading the manual.
Also, try downloading the last windows service pack/update and/or (USB) drivers.

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
It does sound like a driver issue.
>Close all files and open applications.
>Right click My Computer and select either properties (Vista) then Device Manager, or just straight to or Device Manager (XP).
>Open the Human Interface Devices mini-arrow, right click on the subheadings for mouse and keyboard, and uninstall each.
[edit]There may be a section called "Mice and other pointing devices" instead.[/edit]
>Restart (You can hold the power button down to shut it off if you don't have a reset button.)
>Your computer should automatically find the keyboard and mouse and reinstall drivers.
>If you had a CD that came with the mouse, the driver might be on it, though most are pug nd play now.
> While you're there, look for any yellow triangles with exclamation marks in them. That's a sign of a problem driver that needs updating or replacing.
And definitely look for a sync button on the bottom of the mouse and on teh base station and press those before trying any of this.

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
one after the other is fine. Often just one is enough, though can't hurt to try both.Venus wrote:do i press them together and hold them down or one at a time:Pp

Re: keyboard/mouse issues
Have you tried them on a different computer? That might help you narrow down where the problem is
