You get more turns by killing other kingdoms and claiming bounties, or by dying and restarting. If nobody kills you and you've run out of turns, you can use the suicide function to restart. If you've not been getting turns in a different game then something is wrong.
It's not really 'budget' that's the main issue with regards to recoding the game. It's mostly development time, my priorities are trying to make money in the day to day. The things I really want to implement will take a proper recode to do right.

Bloodbath is the best game if you want a lot of action--you get the full load of turns every day. To get max turns in guild, it still takes almost 48 hrs.

Do any guilds recruit new players any more? What's the scene like nowadays?

Guilds is essentially dead. At the moment the games are not actually running because I was running a little experiment. But when I bring them back online guilds won't be coming back, there just simply isn't the playerbase to support it.
