Gold and Honey go well together (RGE vs. HB)

Post by Nymphsong » Tue Mar 18, 2014 11:11 pm

Statistics: (Taken at 21:36:01 18 March 2014 Game Time) (Note: I try to take statistics a couple of hours prior to conflict in order to ensure that we get the real pre-war stats, before realms begin to fluff or ds troops.)

Belligerents: RGE 9/9
Total Land: 131,770
Average Land: 14,642
Total Built: 125,591
Average Built: 13,955 (95.3%)
Total Networth: 4,969,817
Average Networth: 552,202

Defenders: HB 8/8
Total Land: 132,716
Average Land: 16,590
Total Built: 125,713
Average Built: 15,714 (94.7%)
Total Networth: 4,702,496
Average Networth: 587,812

There is the pre-war statistics that so many want to see. War on.

Requesting peace.

Nice downhit lol Not a BIG downhit, but a downhit all the same - true to the Gold Standard! I have two realms just out of NPP, and you gave yourself an extra realm in exchange for 1K extra total land on our side.

I'll repay the favor later on - I have no morals left here :(

lol it means i wait until you hit the reds, then declare on you as soon as you've spent your turns :)

My services are not for sale. Do not ever use 'best option' line with me - what that means is 'we were bored and wanted to get a little land fat without much of a fight', or 'we were pissing our pants for fear of being hit, so we took the initiative'.

So, you got yoru cheap land, and we desire peace for the nonce. Let our new member build his realm up some, and retrain the other guy for GUilds Building 101.

I don't got any real power, just a couple of dollars

and it was a 200k networth downhit.

the barnies would have been close to a million net downhit

so ya best option, unless you can get us more guilds and members and options to hit

and honestly how do I turn on the damn smilies

And for the record, no I am not mad because we got hit, but because we got hit under sketchy circumstances that I myself would have just sat and waited to be hit through.

I am mad because I basically have 6 fight ready realms, or had, and you have 9. I am mad because I accept two new realm in and the day after you hit me, when its clear they were NPP realms - which means you really declared 9 versus 6.

I hate cowards. And that is why I am mad - a good defensive war would be welcome, but not a land-grab puss-fest.

Ah. Definately downhitting you guys in some fashion this age -.-

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

-edit: I would certainly hope so, you had 9 realms at your disposal against 6. If you hadn;'t, I would have rolled on my belly laughing and called you fucking retards, but yes - good strike. One even a newb coulda made work *pats Fire on the back*

Goddamnit, I shouldn't have logged in tonight anyway....I have had too much to drink and you've tainted my happy-go-lucky drunk buzz with sour ass anger. I will not speak any more until I have sobered up - AKA tomorrow.

Still, peace. We have nothing left, unless you want to farm some more.

Well, I'm pleased to see I didn't surrender any land ;)

It would be entertaining to see the Angie faith in general just be like a big Goblins style guild--killing w/o abandon.

Seska,

Let’s go over this war…

I agree we were +1 Realm more than your guild. That is 150 Turns and a lot of potential damage (if used right). We also enjoyed a total net worth advantage of 267,321. We also had a 0.6% total built better than yours.

Your guild had us by total land by 946 acres. Your realms on average were 1,948 Acres larger than ours, which is also about the size a realm should be, that chose to build instead of saving turns for a war. You also had an average networth of 35,606 (and it should have been higher) more than our average realm. I also want to point out that your average built land was more than our average total land, which in any war is significant.

This is the first war of the age, and both guilds were on “even terms” so to speak as far as resources, excluding our scuff-up with TRR several days earlier which slowed my and other member’s build progression, and two restarts within my own guild (Kingx2); although a bit earlier than yours of Bundes (x2).

Now, shall we discuss the information not in the initial stats? Your guild had three unclaimed bounties. One was very small; the other was worth about 4.5 million in cash, which can be convenient. Lastly, JokingJoe had a 10.6k acre unclaimed bounty which is significant. I assumed he was saving it to dump into a strike at some point, and seeing how you get the extra buildings when you claim a bounty, +3500 acres would have been a serious edge, given current realm sizes. Now, you can ask, why that would be a serious edge, and I will be happy to explain. Your guild already commanded the top tier kingdoms to include the King (~2,500) more acres than anyone else. Add in Joe’s Human with that added land and your guild’s first strike would have been…well…I will use your colourful description, “One even a newb coulda made work”.

Now, let’s talk what a War Ready Realm is. Last I checked, when a realm leaves new player protection it is subject to being targeted in a war. Put minimal protections on that realm, and it is subject to being run over. Especially given that Goblins (did in fact kill one of them last night) and probably would have even if we had not hit you all. So is a war ready realm required to have some other element I am not tracking? How about more than 10k acres…I had one with less than that, so I guess I only had 8 war ready realms. Or was there something else I missed? …Maybe it’s putting defensive troops on a kingdom out of new player protection or just defensive troops on any realm at all not conducting a strike. Had Bundes done that, I am sure we would have gotten one, but two, highly unlikely. A Droben realm of that size is a threat, (and since I think he is/are the best player in the game atm, I know he is a threat). He could have used his extra cash and last I checked close to 1k train rate to put up 1k Opulents, it would have tied into his Fort scheme nicely and breaking him would have made my job a lot harder.

Now, onto my strike against HB. We hit you with 6 NOT 9 realms in the first hour (admittedly though I did have 9 realms out of NPP, so I had 9 war ready realms). Two plus hours later 1 more new player show up and participated in a successful sorcery kill of Joe’s 16.8k acre realm. I just happened to have some free time and came up with a decent war strategy to limit your counter as much as possible. Your and Joe’s realms were properly forted and well-defended with a “max fluff” strategy. A credit to your playing strategy. However, two other realms were sitting on a piss poor amount of forts and offensive troops…and not nearly enough of those. They became feeder realms. Bundes’s improper fort, which would have required about 4 turns…also turned his realms into feeders. That is half of your guild…so yes, a newb could have rolled your guild (at least half of it).

My reason for war? Simple…we are three weeks into the age. Plus, I would prefer to get in first strike as opposed to waiting on you. I agree this was not an uphit. I do argue that it was an even/fair hit, and with it being the beginning of the age, that is how it should be. I had cancelled two other previous war chats already due to either RL…or shifting in guild/players, etc.

If you think this strike warrants a gross blind-side at some point later in the age, by all means, do what you think is right. My players can handle it; we are all over the age of 13 (what is required to play this game) and have a slim bit of maturity (although I rarely show it).

the one thing i'll say about this war is that in the first war, stats apart from the number of players generally don't matter a lot. everyone has started from zero turns used.

i know that i restarted recently, so as seska alluded, that cuts down on his availability of realms. that having been said, fireslash also restarted (went from barnie to leto), albeit earlier than me.

(on a side-note, kudos to nymph for doing things like staying unencamped so that he could declare individual peace against one of my barnie realms so that i could restart sooner)

additionally, like nymph said, i cut corners - i was going all-in with my build in order to try to catch up and become useful at around 11k built (so i was up at 4.1k mines with forts only for defence). it was a gamble on my part, and it didn't pay off (not the first time this has happened to me, but if you're going to try to play well in this game, you need to gamble here and there).

i don't think it was an uphit or a downhit. it just is what it is. i can understand part of why seska feels raw about it (and it certainly doesn't help that my realms were of little use to him, either in my shoddy defence or in making any kind of a counterstrike), but we'll move on and fight more wars this age.

also, i don't know if i'm the best player in the game at the moment, but thanks for the compliment

I ain't going to stoop entirely to your level, Nymph - but I certainly won't take into consideration slight down hits or giving you a chance to hit first any more.

I've twice made that mistake with Leto, and twice been burned - well the second one was my fuckup but I won't let there be a third.

Now, do me a favor and don't fuck up any more of my drinking nights, k?
