Congratulations on the 108,000 acre kingdom. Who did you catch with their pants down?
I think I would make a great pope.

lol, it wont last long me thinks. I had similar defences after my last strike and got broken with a single cs lol.

Nobody really had their pants down so to speak, I just munched the kingdom with the least general troops. They had plenty of forts and I think they though 4k forts was stronger than it actually is. As long as I can hold enough troops to outdo the defences, then forts are just like any other troop type, it just takes a bit longer.

We actually have scouts of 'most' of you at the moment thanks to my restore. There is not a lot of take down options though, unless someone makes it on to take the rest of the land before the kingdom I broke reforts. I don't recognise the leader name.

I was on and ready to take kaz down when the restore protection dropped, but as the hour rolled over and I scouted one of them the game broke before I could do anything (all within a few seconds) and eventually I had to leave before it came back up giving him the opportunity to strike :(

Oh well, I failed to stop him from breaking someone but at least I took back some of that land. :)

I'm really not sure what happened, I must have uploaded a file to the wrong folder. Although, if you were not on when I sorted it, then I wouldn't have popped out until you'd gone anyway. I noticed the error when I was expecting RPP to end.

Yeah, it ended and was still working long enough for me to scout you at like 10 seconds after the hour, but by 20 seconds after the hour when I had switched to my other kingdom and went to the downsize screen to drop my trolls the game was broken.

You scouted my restore BEFORE the syntax error??

That shouldn't have been possible, based on the time of Reylan's post, the syntax error was in place 20 mins before my RPP was supposed to end (according to the countdown in my kingdom). Which I guess means that if you did scout me, there is an hours difference between end of RPP for the kingdom, and end of RPP for attackers.

I need to check that asap.

Yer lucky all was done is scout. We goblinz will see you again before diz over Ashin. No worriez.

--- Meanwhile ---

The goblin hordz broke through more of LKA's kingdoms in one way or another, some did as Kaz had done and just CHARRRRGE!!! and hope for the best. The goblinz that did break through started to dig more tunnelz around, below and within the enemy compounds. Every foray - even when mostly repelled - left behind a goblin or two that did survive to begin the work
.
Mostly these incursions consisted of half-drunken troops simply throwing caution to the wind and charging from tunnelz to attack en masse upon whatever kingdom, camp, city or village lay before them. Of course a few times - well mostly these days - they found themselves facing far superior numbers and some of the weaponary - exemplary! Surely able to be traded with the Pirates so must be brought back to the tunnelz.
One way or another.
Or next time!

I think you got your time wrong... According to our saved scrolls you restored sometime before 18:45 game time on Friday so you would come out of protection at 18:00 Sunday, I scouted you at 18:00 sunday.

I scouted you at like 10 seconds after the hour(I refreshed the scolls at the hour first and saw you no longer with protection), looked at the scout to estimate how few troops I could get away with to break you and clicked on my other tab that had my golbin kingdom already open, clicked downsize and typed in the numbers for my orcs and trolls and clicked downsize and got the syntax error so the error started between the scout and trying to drop my defensive troops a matter of seconds later.

The heathen armies of THAT HEATHEN SIDEON were a serious threat, but your forces managed to hold.

HA! And that after some poor SOB face de heathen-killin-ambush. HA I say! .... so we could only "fight like demons" for the rest of the wave - but VS 100K+ more acres and who knows how much more cash - not too bad I say. Me thinkz we employ trollz next time 'round too.

I'm not saying I came out at the wrong time, I'd trust the scrolls, that's what I use when trying to find enemies coming out of RPP. I suspect it's a case of the countdown being in hours, rather than hours and minutes. Maybe it says You have 1 hour of RPP instead of you have 0 hours and 1 minute of RPP (or similar).

Either way, I thought my RPP ended later than it actually seemed to do. I clearly wouldn't have been doing random code updates on the development environment if I thought I was coming out of RPP, so something needs checking.

It brings up an interesting question though.

Should the player have some sort of control over when RPP ends, within reason? say .. within a configurable period before and after the timer? Give them the chance to come out at xx:13 or xx:37 etc rather than an exact and predictable xx:00

It's not something I can code and test in time for v2.5, but it could be worth discussing for v2.6

Yeah, it works the same as logout so if you logout at 11:59 the next minute counts as the first hour and when you try to logging at 10:59 it says you have 1 hour left rather than 1 minute.

Depending on how complicated it is, I might convert restore (in v2.6 not v2.5) from on the hour to on the second. At least give 'some' variety to the end time. Plus, as it stands, I assume that you could reduce RPP by an hour (pretty much) by restoring at XX:59:59.

I'll stick up a thread to chat about possible tweaks to RPP end time after reset. Someone remind me if I don't.

As far as the timing for protection ending I actually thought about that but in the end I think both sides knowing when the kingdom is coming back into the war is fair. Both sides can take advantage of it and it makes protection less abuse-able.

Having it end to the minute would be an ok change through. The enemy can still get some kind of estimate and try to be on but they would need to keep checking the scrolls if they want to strike them as they come out making it more work but still possible.

Though it does keep everything nice and simple by going by the hour.
