A 4 kingdoms game existed, it was called chaos. Solo was solo, 1 kingdom, no alliances allowed.

And yeah, conquest's ONLY similarity with solo is that you can only have one kingdom...that is only a small part of what solo was about. Without the 125 turn max, 3 turns per hour it isn't the same game with the strategies and difficulty of getting to the top and surviving there without any support in a living game. Conquest has none of that.

I don't mean to come off as elitist about the solo game, I just loved the gameplay involved in it for a solo player. It was a different game played differently. You couldn't play Chaos solo because even if you became king with a big lead (which I did a couple times) 20-30+ kingdoms would gang up on you to take you out. No matter how big and solid your defense is you would be countered with mass turns. It was just who had the most friends and a basic grasp of gameplay. Solo was about strategy. There were a lot of strategies to get to the top but pulling them off was another matter. You wouldn't lose to anything but being outplayed in strategy or beaten head on in a 1 on 1 fight (and with 125 turn max you could easily win a defensive war so it wasn't just who hit first, I won almost every single defensive war I had the last few ages I played it, because I built completely defensive).

My favorite use of the Chaos game was for a mini free for all game we played as the SOLO guild. I would put everyone who wanted to play into an app I wrote and it would randomize us some teams, we would each make 1 kingdom in chaos according to our teams at the same time and after a set build period we had a free for all brawl between the teams to the death. :) Sometimes having a game with no rules like chaos was handy so we could use it however we wanted but the game itself was pretty shallow. :)

But yeah, unfortunately we don't have the player base to keep solo going as a living game. It was always a fraction the players of guilds and even if everyone in guilds played it that probably wouldn't be enough :( With so few player it becomes too easy for individuals to exert dominance when in a game with a hundred players is impossible.

It is funny, I think most of us have busy lives that require us to play this game on the side nowadays, but we still believe there is a lot of work involved in GMing the guild. I do some banner edits and send some scribes, build kingdoms, and review possible targets. If one fits my mood, I work on it over the week.

I just don't believe that running a guild is that hard nowadays. Plus, restore makes it that even if we screw up, we can always come back and try again. I think the game is getting its own style of groove on and frankly, I love it. The game isn't Evernight or even Monarchy (Alpha). It is its own beast and I like it and where it is going. Casual play is the rule of the day, but those wishing to put time and effort into a strike or two can see their effort paid in full.

Hell, I just picked up a new member (old hat though).

I agree with Reylan. This age is my first time being a GM. It has not been difficult; granted it is just me and a couple old hat pros. K would be willing to GM again.

Even when fighting a warchat it isn't hard with only three to four people. Do it over FB messenger to make it even faster.

I usually put up banner hits as my scheduled makes it so that I don't play during odd times. My membership know it is their responsibility to maul the invaders. Last age, Sideon and Risendreev were amazing at crushing targets in tandem. Ashin would be on to assist. This age, Ashin and I started the fight with SW and did it over the phone.

It is a fun to be a GM. It shouldn't be looked on as a huge committment if you have at least one Assistant who can run the show, put numbers on the banner, issue some orders to look good in clutch situations, and declare peace while you are away.

Heck, I'm not even sure. I just felt bad at the idea of not accepting players into the only Barny guild. I know that one is Losa and that another is an old school Canon player coming back. Then the SW folks.

ohhh well in that case, Stee, I would've done the same =) I'll go around with the guild-warming party then, that way they know which tunnelz lead to ale an' holy herbs an' which umm .. don't.

An' sweet deal about Losa! Awesome, I'll hav'ta call that womanz later an' be like, "hey! you know there's guild dues nowadays right?" 8-)

Too bad our kdms can't send gifts other than cash, would be fun to send like builders to help an ally out or other presents to pick from, then in kdm news, "your ally has sent a barcalounger and barrels of ale to welcome you to the guild!" lol

I think that should just be a drop down scribe option :P

Then tag in a message to go along with em!
"Welcome to the guild!"
"Sorry about that parkinglot!"
"At least with all those buildings out of they way you can get more sun!"
"You looked a little stressed out with such a huge kingdom to run. Here, now you can finally relax, rubble is much less stressful!"

And the ever-classy...

"How you doin? ;D"

So...What is going on? Seems like a whole bunch of kingdom took out Aero last night and war was declared but no post. Considering that you guys had more land, more networth and over 3 times our numbers/turns before you hit us that made no sense.

Anyone care to explain?

We're not the only ones attacked, it appears all the top angies have taken damage. This is faith war.

"Damage" is surely a charitable way to put it.

No idea why there isn't a post yet, unless there is another guild going to join the war. TFC declared war on NIR then they attacked G, so I was presuming it was NIR/G vs. TFC but maybe there is more to the war or not. Hard to tell without a post saying who is all involved.

But either way I had a nice conversation with Tara last night, even tho I only understood about half of it.

Leif slaughtered my goblins again (was all offense) an' didn't even leave a note to ask how I was doin! *sniffs with a frown* on the other hand, like Ashin said we had a nice talk in aviary.

We even got a chance later on to watch the remains of one of my kdms smolder under an impromptu fireworks show while we ate cheese and shared my wine.

Yes, I SHARED MY WINE with that heathen, I forgot to bring the interpreter tho, sorry Ashin! lol

As for who's in war, well, if it was me I guess I'd just hit back who was hittin me *shrugs an' smiles* because here's usually me this age, Stee: "Tara here's number go hit" Me: "OK!" *hithithit give info* Stee: "good job wenchie!" Me: "Thanks, who was that anyway?" =)

Leif was just trying to invite your goblins to a party but they kept saying "Kaboom".
