They need some roofs though. I didn't feel like killing one today, so I just lotted a couple more for shits.

Man, ain't really a lot of built acres left between the two guilds. Maybe we can have a picnic with all this free space?

Yeah, both guilds are more than 50% open acres. Ouch.

Since you are going to add more members mid war, and since people jumping back in midwar from restore, I will happily surrender yet again. And I am absolutely livid you would bring another person in mid war. That sort of tactic is complete bullshit.
Completely unexpected, fuck ya'll very much.

its a three acre realm that i doubt has done anything to you.
restore is a function of the game now, maybe suggest that you can't perform any offensive actions until peace is declared

I have bannered ceasefire for now, but don't make the big decisions, that's up to Stee
and honestly no one won from this war, you did a damn good job at fucking us up. the decision is do i want a big realm that can barely breath, or less land than I had before the war began.

Re: Freedom ain't free. {Empire vs. TFC}
I think that you are jumping to conclusions, Seska. As I told you in the scribe I sent you, the member added during the war was Maverick, who made a new realm and has only played 149 turns. There has been no one else and he would have taken no offensive action had the war continued long enough for it to make a difference. I wasn't just going to leave his application hanging, given the fact that Monarchy needs all of the players it can get.
As for the restore business, I was unaware of any expectation that restored realms needed to stay out of the fight permanently. Perhaps this is due to restore being a new feature, so community norms haven't had a chance to develop. But I would figure it to be fair game since it is a tool available to both sides. If the community decides that different conduct regarding restore is called for, I'll be happy to comply.
It was a good war. You guys screwed us up seriously, as Fire mentioned.

I certainly wasn't aware that if you Restore your perma out of the war, and like you say doubt we've reached a community feel for it yet.

Re: Freedom ain't free. {Empire vs. TFC}
I just want to point out that it is not possible to accept a new member into a guild during wartime UNLESS that member is still in NPP. This was added years ago to prevent members switching between guilds to avoid a war declaration, and as far as I know still works. I've certainly not deliberately removed the code, and I've seen the 'you cannot accept new members during war' message on the development server.
On the restore point of view, a suggestion was made regarding tying restore protection to peace declarations which has not been discussed since it was made. As it's not been discussed I determine that it's less important to most people, and it's not currently on my tweaks-to-do list. I won't be adding it unless a decent discussion is had regarding both sides of the subject.
As I see it, a kingdom needs to make a tactical decision. Do I stop attacking during a war and leave my guild one member short for 1 + 2 days, and hopefully return before the war is over? Let's not come up with some crappy unwritten honour rule about whether or not you're allowed to use a restore to it's full tactical extent or not. It just gets silly if you add a feature specifically to reduce complaints, only for people who like the feature when they use it, but complain about others using it too.

Re: Freedom ain't free. {Empire vs. TFC}
Thats basically what happened to me in our war. Both realms were hit down to about half size and could gain from a restore but i'd be out of the war. I stayed in, then a couple of days later one realm was smashed to 2k. I just hit restore on that, I had hoped peace would occur but i would certainly have started hitting out when that realm exited restore protectionKaz wrote:As I see it, a kingdom needs to make a tactical decision. Re: Freedom ain't free. {Empire vs. TFC}
I was hit by a new number last night at the end of your strike against my realm, which is why I said what I did. When I get back to the house and am not on a phone trying to do this stuff I will check details and see which guild I will have to go and threaten with death next - it was not a new realm number anyway, had to have been created early in
the age.
I jump to conclusions because I see a new realm in the rankings and a new realm in the news. I do not think I am in the wrong for being angry about it, given it was a fair war to start with.

And I owe an apology now...that turns out to have been Duathi in an unfamiliar kingdom name. Trust old Duathi to be the douchebag that causes problems...he has a special fondness for harassing me and my guild.
I think next age I will have to deal with him in kind, this age I have a guild to run.

Ah, Dauthi. That does explain things.
Well, glad to know that this won't cause any bad blood. I do my best to run fair wars, so I always take these kinds of charges seriously.

Dauthi is easily one of the many reasons this game continues to be vastly entertaining. Without someone to war when you aren't expecting it, it can get tiresome. One of our members took it on the chin after the war. Didn't fort up enough. We have dispensed our justice and our guild will come to the aid of the beleaguered kingdom.
Hearing about this war though makes me cringe for one reason:
- PL'd kingdoms are annoying to rebuild.
It gives me game-boner for another:
- Maverick, Stee, and Fireslash are all in a Barnie guild.
Should make for a great age thus far.

It's been a LONG time since I was playing the same guilded game as Mav and was in a different guild to him. Forgetting the fact it's been a LONG time since I've played at all. Might be amusing to bring back 'Peaceful Builders' with him one day. Wonder if I still have the charter lying around.Reylan Talonspyre wrote:.........
