Anyone play it?

I dorked around with it for a bit back in 2007.

SOE now owns it and runs it.

I started playing again. They have a decent F2P set up. Although people are saying its best to save up all your gold for a 300k gold rune. And considering you would have to play quite a bit... that would take a long time to get that much gold... I will maybe make 1k gold a day...

If anyone is interested, it is "a collectible, turn-based, tactical, online fantasy game. Players command armies of fantastic creatures, cast spells of devastating power, and summon relics and equipment of ancient renown in order to defeat their opponents."

Basically an online table top warfare type of game I guess combined with a trading card style game.

Tried it for a couple seconds. Seemed interesting but self-limited. No real dynamism in maps and PvP with collectibles loses some appeal for me.

I've been playing Dominions 3 since I discovered it and recently also found and have had fun with Conquest of Elysium (both by Illwinter Games through Shrapnel). Dominions 3 is about the deepest and most complex RPG/Strategy/Kingdombuilder hybrid I've ever seen with about 20 races multiplied by 3 time periods during which each race is different. Add to that you can completely alter who the god is for your race and use a points system to choose god strength vs kingdom attributes vs magic power and troop bonuses vs confinement etc. and the amount of choices and paths to play is just staggering...before you even choose a map (or download your own).

These games were made by 2 guys in their spare time...
