on the sc2 side there are two major stories.
Crank - an unknown Korean went to the open brackets play(basicly anyone can join the open brackets if they get registered soon enough and pay to get in.) and in a best of three matches went 12-0 meaning He played 6 players and didn't lose a single game, winnning his bracket. Got put into the pool play(the best from the previous tournaments, plus winners of the open bracket), and has gone 4-1 so far. With two more players to play in the pool before championship bracket. His play is amazing, and very fluid.
the you have Idra, the most famous american Zerg player, the last year he's suffered and finished horribly in all tournaments. While still famous and toting a huge fan base he was constantly mocked and made fun of by casters and haters. He himself also made it out of the open bracket and doing very well in the pool play himself. This is an amazing turn around for him and if he keeps it up he could end up getting a position into the GSL code S. (The top tournament world wide were the best of the best play.)
