I'd say Pearl Harbor, but the movie was too damn annoying too. And way too long for being a surprise attack!

Yah. Come to think of it, is there a proper movie about sinking ships? I can't think of one. They're all annoying, exceptionally long-winded, or both...

Both of them (U-571, I like the movie but...and Red October) took too long to sink.

Almost like the Posiedon Adventure...

But then again, anything with more than five minutes of Steve Guttenberg is too long anyway.

This reminds me of another movie where it takes bloody ages to sink a ship: The Perfect Storm.

Yeah, you would think, with a Perfect Storm, the bloody thing would have sunk in about 2 seconds, but NOOOOO....*sigh*

Depends on how you look at it.... The storm obviously was perfect to make a long-winded movie of.

Yeah, but then, shouldn't it have been about the factors that brought about the perfect storm (and all that would consist of, such as height of waves...it would have been a doco then) instead of one little fishing boat that got (eventually) sunk?

I don't think I've really seen too many movies lately that are as good as they could be. Mostly like Owly says, all FX and very little content.

I did rather enjoy Fast and Furious...the lastest release...but that could have just been the cars.

90 minutes is enough. Give them 60 minutes to drown (opening scene obviously being the car getting into the water). That'll leave us 30 minutes for celebration.
