Album Cover Game

Post by asoc » Thu Nov 10, 2011 11:48 am

So, ripping this idea from another forum I frequent.
And the idea there was ripped from somewhere else...

Here are the rules

1 - Go to Wikipedia and hit random. The first random article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. Third picture no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

[Note: flickr runs the same pictures all day, if you get one that's already been used or one you can't download Reload the page until you do.]

4 - Use picnik.com to put it all together.
[edit]
picnik.com has actually closed down, below are a couple of alternative sites that do a similar thing. picnik.com was basically an image editor, if you already have photoshop, gimp, paintshop etc and a few good fonts you can do this step on your own PC. If not check out one of these alternates ~ Kaz

online-image-editor.com
lunapic.com/editor
pixlr.com/express
picmonkey.com
[/edit]

5 - Post it with a short story about your made-up band maybe desribing their drug habits, their style, or the songs they play.

note: don't really need to post the short history etc. But a little description can add to your album cover.
Also, you will need someplace to upload your pic to.

"Be Terrific and Torturous" is the eccentric yet compelling debut album of former Japanese Adult Film star Mari Ayukawa.

Live Up To Them is the second album from singer song writer Lakshitha de Silva. The title comes from the Album's overarching theme which Lakshitha says is a reflection of the expectations placed on him from childhood on up to his critically acclaimed debut album and how he strives to be his best.

hehe, I ended up with an amusing collection.

The combination or artist and album names works quite well (Nagotal is a village in Pakistan on the Afghan border).
The picture seems totally out of place, but in a wierdly good way lol

Artist : Nagotal
Album : My Karma Ran Over Your Dogma

Image

Nagotal play a fusion of heavy guitars, funky basslines and synthesised sound. Following extreme reactions from right wing christians, and an attempt to have the album banned in 2 states, `My Karma Ran Over Your Dogma` has become the new must have album for 2011

too funny that Kaz's selection is already an album out there with such anthems as "Pimp Rally", "Pissin in my ear" & "Down, Baby, Down!" (gotta love the music biz... whatever you do don't tell the RIAA! ;p)

Way ta resurrect a good game post!

So I got a really cool crop'a 3 but can't use picnik.com cuz apparently that site's done.

We'll see how long it takes me to do this, between other stuff tonight.

I did like that randomness tho, that was FUN *clapsangiggles*

Googled for similar sites, and then added a few alternatives in the first post
