WoW for free up to level 20...

So after 2-3 years of not playing, I heard about this and started playing again.

No way am I going to get back into the grind though and actually pay money to play.

but you can play for free up to 20. SO? you ask.
Well, you can lock your experience gain at 19 for 10 gold.
Then you can do pvp battle grounds for fun whenever you want and you won't be the the lowest level in the level tier. You can also run the few instances available without gaining experience to gear yourself up.

GAH, not even if they paid ME! Is there anyone left who does not use this game as an excuse to cheat on their spouse or in any other way get their freak on? It is worse than Second Life, lord there is even a whole genre of porn associated with it.

Plus, Sylandra had account there for more than 10 years, and she got hacked and in spite of all the money she spent they did not care, gave her a bunch of crap items in return and then sent her an email about using the game in a cheater fashion, something about ruining the game for others, blah blah blah. Their customer service seems to exist purely of people whose last job was breaking mules.

Dude I cannot even comprehend how much money she has dumped into that game to come in one day and find her character standing naked in some zone and have the Blizzard customer service not give a shit. Holy no-service Batman!

I've heard of multiple "hackings" (including my own) and all items are returned via the mailbox. Blizz customer support is top notch compared to other companies. Maybe the US customer service sucks perhaps

Couple things real quick-like.

WoW hasn't been around 10 years, at least not openly playable. It was annoucned in '01, Beta was in '04 and the game was released late in '04. Sadly I've been playing WoW off and on since guild beta started, just to make sure my timeline was accurate I went and looked and sure enough, my first payment was 11/2004. So it is actually impossible to have stuff from "over 10 years", but still seven years is a pretty long time.

Secondly, I can honestly say in those 7 years my account has never been hacked. I only within the last year put a authenticator on it. But I have known plenty of people who have been hacked, and it seems my guild(s) get hacked at least twice a year. Everytime that I can recall, everything has been returned. In fact the last time my buddy got hacked (back in May) and we lost all of our guild resources, we ended up with double just about everything, it was kind of cool.

Thirdly, I have characters on three different server (I think), and have played with and in several different guilds over the years (two of which were 200+ members strong), and I can't recall ever cheating on my spouse, or really hearing of anyone that has done that. Hell, my wife even plays and half the guys don't even know she's married.

I know you have always been a little bit over the top, but posts like that from someone who has no freaking clue just drive me insane. Apparently enough to have Kaz reset my password just so I can come in here and point out how insane it makes me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go cheat on my wife and level my DK to 80 so I can hack a chinese farmer and ruin his life. NI HAO.

This whole stopping your exp at level 19 isn't bad.

Of course, I am finding a lot of the people in the battlegrounds I am competing with are all twinked out to high heaven with good enchants and heirloom gear... but still, lol.
