Hamburger a hero needs our prayers

Post by owly » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:31 am

A tragady of the most disasterous kind, I believe most of you have heard of the helicopter that was shot down in Afghanistan and the life's that was lost for country homes and family. Patrick Hamburger was one of the courageous lionhearted falling tragically, losing his life for you and me, father of a stepdaughter, who he loved as his own, father of a two year old daughter shared in love. He planned on propossing to the mother of his children when his tour in Afghanistan was over. That hope is now hopelessly lost. I ask for your prayers for him and his family. I ask for your prayers for all that was lost and prayers for their families. These men will forever be my heros......

It is sad and pray for all who have lost their lives in their prime, and so far from their own shores and loved ones. Just have to wonder how many more young men that chose this as their vocation (*unlike during WWI and WWII with so many draftees and enlistees whose sacrifices were made to protect their homelands from a real danger of foreign invasion) will spill their lifeblood in that parched and desolate soil on the other side of the planet? How many will die policing the world fighting not an actual enemy/foreign army bent on conquest of their homeland, but instead while chasing stateless criminals on other people's soil (not to mention how many more countless civilians will perish as well who did not have such a choice, caught in the crossfire on their own ancient land). All this, in a war that's drug on for so long that it's taking on the appearance of an endless war... costing an untold qty of lives and treasure, and to what end?

Indeed, pray for these 'heroes', but while we're at it - perhaps we should also pray for peace?
