Diet suggestion

Post by Nether » Tue Jan 25, 2011 5:43 am

Ok heres the deal, airforce recruiter told me that my awesome 234lb frame is to heavy to join the airforce (damn those fucking weights i can't stop lifting)

I have to get to 218lbs before they will let me in. So I have to lose 16lbs. Anyone know of a quick crash diet that will allow me to do so in two weeks?

You can try the Hollywood liquid diet. You can pick it up at most Wal Greens and such. It is just liquid for 48 hours, but I would not go much beyond that. Plus ALL you are losing is water weight and so when you rehydrate you will put it back on, but if it is just one weigh in you need to sweat it is not harmful.

I say to research what high school wrestlers do for weight management. They are very good at getting in by the skin of their teeth.

Plus, once you are in, you can weigh whatever you want and they won't separate you as long as you can pass the PT tests. I'm 240lbs and am going up for TSgt here soon. As long as I pass my run, I'm good :-).

Dude, there is NOTHING safe to do to lose that much actual weight in two weeks, if there were we would all do it. Hell, NONE of us would be fat.

I can teach you tips to fake up to 20 lbs gone by the scale, but not permenantly, and frankly.. not safely either.

I am not trying to nag, I just don't want to see you have a heart attack trying to lose weight.

That sounds about as good as the cookie diet.

I would opt for cookies.

Nether,
There are no carb diets, the problem with that is you can't trust the food labels. They all trick you by stating very small serving sizes, and if it is less than 1 carb, they claim zero. Those carbs add up. You need to be on zero carbs for 2 weeks and you can lose 20 lbs in a week if you are active and have fat stored, otherwise you will lose muscle and that isn't what you want, I don't think. It takes longer to lose muscle.

Another one is the cabbage soup diet. You can eat all the cabbage soup you want, and each day there are specific foods to eat such as one day all fruits (no bananas though) Another day all veggies (no potatoes) the next both, fruits and veggies, then a day with only banans and skim milk, and a day with just meat and a potato, and I think another day with meat and something else. You MUST eat the cabbage soups at every meal. and I chuck it full of lots of veggies. That is another 20 lbs in a week weight loss. However, I did try both of those lately and neither worked for me, however they used to work great. Now that I am older, my body has changed and I expect so has the way to lose weight. Some day I will try it again. Good luck to you!

BTW, the unsafe dangerous way....lasix(water pills) didn't work for me.... I drink too much coffee and I guess coffee is already a diuretic.
I was under a Dr. care at the time, he was trying to help me lose 8 lbs in a week for a weigh in. I did succeed, but I quit eating completely and stayed active. I only drank water and coffee and 1/2 cup of orange juice per day in the final 5 days when the lasix didn't work.

I will tell you Cindy, I tried that cabbage soup diet. For precisely ONE day. LORD I cannot imagine how people get that down!! I made small batches and doctored it up every way I could think of and NONE of it tasted like anything but boiled cabbage butt.

The military and that damned BMI. You know that was never even MEANT as a test of fat or fit? Nor does it work as one. By their scale both Sylvester Stallone and I are obese. HE is morbidly obese. It doesn't work. I say if you can see your winky or your toes you are solid.

On the tuna diet now, straight from the can only a little bit of mustard, its not bad just a tad dry. I was shocked when he told me that at 6'3 that 234lbs was to heavy, I bust my ass in the gym 6 days a week i dunno how much freakin body fat i have to lose i just hope its atleast 16lbs worth.

I'm quite surprised as well. When I joined, the limit was 224lbs for 6'3" (my height as well). I was 220lbs when I left for basic. I was 208lbs midway through basic. I was 215lbs by the end of basic (and was in damn good shape). I'm now 240lbs (basically the 215lbs of fit with 25lbs of flab on top).

You might be able to ask to be calipered if you're in good shape. They use to have a body fat measure for those who don't qualify on the idiotic BMI chart.

Nether,
Try another recruiter. I went to 3 or 4 in a 2 year period before I got one that would allow me to audition as a Marine Corps Musician. Most of them just plain refused and tried to talk me out of enlisting. They told me horror stories of women in the Marine Corps. I finally found one, passed my audition with flying colors, even had my recruiter bragging to everyone about me and... got the duty station of my choice, Washington DC. So You don't have to listen to the first recruiter you meet.
