Lock up the knives

Post by Lady Maven » Wed Jun 23, 2010 10:51 pm

OK, people, it aint like I ever got rid of you anyway. So I am back. Til they pry me out and throw away they key.

Since I've been gone..

I became a grandmother. Baby's name is Riley, he is 9 months now. My once thug child has had to grow up, pull up his pants and stop being a douche. THAT makes me happy.

My ice skating son is now in the Navy.

You bitches should feel old, those kids were 9 and 10 when I started posting here.

I got two degrees, one paralegal one business, I have been accepted into nursing school so I will be a nurse paralegal when it is done.

I moved from Sacramento to Reno. I LOVE it here. I belong to a volunteer woman's group that I helped start up. Our whole goal is to do as many good deeds as we can before we die.

My mother slipped into a coma last night. She stopped breathing repeatedly and her heart stoppede. By today she is stable, but has been sedated heavily. We have no idea whether she will ever come out, and I myself am heavily sedated on Xanax and Paxil to deal with it.

How did someone realize you could milk a cow? And what the hell did they think they were doing to the cow in the first place?!

I don't know whether to wish for that or not Owly. She has been really sick a very long time. I would like her to be able to see my grandson before she goes though.

Sorry to hear about your mother, Maven. I hope you can find a way to deal with it.

And congrats on the grandchild. It's really been a while since we all got dragged into this place.

Thanks TEVA. I went to see her yesterday. She has a hole in her lung and they have this pump thing with a tube to sort of suck the fluids out. What happened was that with the hole, she could breathe in real deep but could not breathe out all the carbon dioxide, so she was poisoned with it. The worry was about brain damage, but I was able to "talk" to her yesterday. She is intubated so she writes on a pad. He mental faculties seem there. She was able to correct me even on small points of things. But bottom line is we just don't know.

My loss of Xanax was a harsh blow, ma friend, a harsh blow indeed. BUT my doctor feels that marijuana might be useful for my arthritis and migraines. She won't sign off on a card because her HMO won't allow that, but I can set up a clinic appointment. I am just not sure if I want to...

My mother is no longer on life support at all, and she is talking. The hole in her lung seems to have closed up. I will be going down to visit her tomorrow.

They are talking about releasing her on the first!! I swear, I have never known another person like her. Most people would have just given up and died. Her biggest bitch is that they took out her dentures and lost them and they won't let her dye her hair, and one of the nurses is smoking hot and she looks a mess.
