Centaur

With the recent-ish rework of the Sidhe race (and subsequent addition of Fae), and the thread detailing the possibility of adding an old player-race called the Icharii, it got me thinking about the 'race name' of Centaur.

From a role-play (and in-game) point of view having a racial category that describes only one of the sub-species could be confusing.

As it currently stands, the Centaur sub-species are all zoomorphic in one way or another.
Wildmen : Part man part ape
Faun : Part man part goat
Minotaur : Part man pat bull
Chiron : Part man part horse (centaur)
Kitsune : Man to beast shapeshifter

I've been looking at various words that have a general meaning for a creature that's made up of other creatures.

Theriocephaly (man body, animal head)
Therianthropy (man to animal shapeshifter)

I've also been looking at breaking down the words into component parts
