'Old' Beginnings (OOC Plot Discussion)

Postby Kaz » Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:37 pm

This is the OOC thread for the following roleplay

'Old' Beginnings

The plot as it stands from 'my' point of view.

Kaz will have a vision of the first wraith to come through from the void, he will then have a second vision of the wraith feeding from a Droben, before waking and heading off to whereever he goes.

I will then switch to Ruark, my Droben character. Ruark is the Megalith of the Northern Mountains Droben clan. He will be summoned to a meeting of the Elder council of the Droben, where he will learn of the killed droben.

There is no given roleplay reason for why the droben hid in their mountains for ages, to be discovered during the new gods era. Therefore, as we inferred an ancient peaceful time of the Droben where all worshipped the same god, they were probably around during the Olandar peace era, and hid as a result of the Dark Lady.

That suggests that ancient knowledge of Adrastia might be found with the Droben. Although, we need to somehow get her name, or something that'll lead us to it, from the being that's come through from the void.

I have no idea where to go with Kaz, and my other characters at this point. Ruark is the only only I can really tie to things.

I am thinking that I work it from the past to the present, filling in the gaps of history from the perspective of Crystiame Volodimire. Crystiame had saved Kaz from the library through a time bubble. From there, Kaz experienced the flows of time. I am thinking that they started to go back in time, and that thier journey backards started to accelerate, and along the strands they were about to be attacked by a Temporal Wyrm of Time. Since Crystiame is more accustomed to the strands of time, he forced Kaz back into the present and continued to fight the Wyrm himself. In following posts, he will slowly defeat the Wyrm in an epic battle and lay comatose along the strands of time till he is practically undone. From there, the strands of time reforge him and force him through time, where he experiences the memories and pains of all the worlds. Till he falls back into reality in a crumbling heap of rain and mud.

* * * * *

Crystiame is entwined with time, and as he works his magics his body becomes youthful and old with the ebb and flow of those energies. Basically, as a critical action or event approaches he becomes ever more youthful. And as the apex of the event crests his body ages dramatically. This process is extremely painful for him, but this is how it has always been for him. He also has visions and memories of other lives, and an uncanny sense of time mingled with intuition.

Time has not served his memory well, for he no longer remembers his homeland. He has no living family, no world to call his own. Nor does anyone know why he feels time the way he does. This is something that could be written out or discovered, but probably in a seperate thread for those that are willing.

To clarify, when I said bring to the present, I meant a time before Kaz and Crystiame (along with a few others, I think) went into the tomb. This will hopefully fill in some gaps in the history. From there, it will have to be deteremined how things transpired within the tomb.

If this all fits in with everything, I will start filling it out.

To put this in context, Volodimire last posted during the Search for the Arian roleplay in 2004. We were searching an ancient library for information about the quest, when the library was destroyed, and to protect Kaz and the knowledge, Volodimire pulled us into a time bubble. We never actually roleplayed our escape from the bubble.

The tomb he is referring to is the conclusion of that unfinished story, where Kaz became possessed by Niurin and started to lead TEN. I was chatting with Reverie last night, trying to establish how our two characters should be interacting, as Kaz's history from this point is quite well plotted.

right, while my own history trailed off into nothing. this new start for my character fits more in line to how he shoudl be played, i think.

i plan to do a scene where his apprentice tries to apologize, but volodimire is not happy with the situation and ends up blowing him off.

I am thinking that Bran will start all over...but I really liked the Primus Mar RP that we did back in Mo'Pri so what I was thinking - since we want RP's that are seperate but that intersect at points..i.e. not your typical quest..( I hope I read that right, if not please correct me).

Bran is on the Primus Mar ship the Reviant..we open with the capture of a merchant ship carrying silks, bullion, etc. etc. (possibly from the city that Desdemona mentioned?)

Ship is captured, possibly wierd weather patterns = major storms..dust storms at sea..just wierd stuff..symptoms of the rift created by the wraith (of course Bran does not know that).

Options from here:

1. Journey to Desdemona's city for a parley with representatives from the Three
2. Jounrey to speak with Leto, patron of the Primus Mar about the weather (do the Three know of thier divine origin?)
3. Return to the isle of Mar..setting up location, minor characters, etc.etc.

Ideas, thoughts?

bran,

sounds good to me. i like the idea of something happening in your thread that has an effect on my own. if you work a thing on the weather, i will work it into my own post.

maybe in my post after yours i will see a shooting star in the middle of day with your ship streaking across the sky?

The City, Obensea, still needs some fleshing-out work on the details. I have it set in my mind, but coming up with the words to adequately describe it in a rational manner....not so much.

If it helps anyone at all, there are at least two Inns, and a roadhouse, that will figure into various storylines.

Inn #2 is Silky's, and it's set closest to the docks. It's the rowdy playland, basically. Food, drink, rooms, companionship of both genders available. Think a Vegas casino without all the glitter. Quite a bit of the clientele would be sailors just in from sea and looking for a place to spend some money and have some fun. Yes, there really is a "Silky" but this individual does not fit the name.

Inn #1, set back closer to the road leading from the Harbor up into the City. So far, it's unnamed because I'm not happy with anything I have come up with as of yet. Again, we have food, drink, rooms, not so much in the companionship department. More of a serious traveller type of lodging. You would find the Captains of those off-loading sea vessels taking rooms here, away from the noise and drunken debauchery of Silky's. The proprietor of this Inn is named Lyra and she is a girl whose family numbered among the original settlers of Obensea, and she has only a sister as her acknowledged remaining family.

In the farthest corner of the Harbor is a Roadhouse. Mainly drinks served, limited food menu, unofficial bordello where rooms are rented by the hour, if even that long is needed. You don't come here unless you really want some type of trouble or to hire those who are capable of committing the type of trouble you may have in mind. Name of the establishment is Spike's Roadhouse. PS: Nobody has ever seen the individual known as "Spike".

Desdemona,

mayhaps my character can stop through the town. maybe an intersting waypoint. maybe have a battle in the middle of town with some bounty hunters... or, maybe the sewers drain into old catacombs, and the tunnel workers while fixing a clog discovered a relic or something... just things off the top of my head.

the default discussion board setup was throwing me fits, so i changed it. when i changed it, i can barely read the color of your text. :(

does anyone know if that is fixed yet?

Obensea is there for everyone to use to their heart's content.

All I ask is that nobody obliterate the City or the Harbor, and no killing Lyra or Silky.

Everything else is fair game, though. I haven't had time to get too attached to anyone just yet. The Councilum of Five, Obensea's ruling body, such as it is, still needs to be given names and faces, so if any of them are unfortunate collateral damage during any adventures, I won't be too miffed about it.

Cool, thanks for posting about the city, I've been waiting for that.

Following his dream, Kaz will wake up in the city. I have no particular destination in mind, so will interact with the first person to also post in the city.

I am thinking that instead of being called to a council about the wraith attacking a droben, Ruark will be summoned to the mountains of the stoneburrow clan, due to his previous experience with the 'suspect' Volodimire.

Maybe Volodimire will be forced to call a witness to his character, but because of droben tradition, the witness must be from another clan, rather than a friend or ally at Stoneburrow.

that sounds kewl. considering i had an inch of water in my kitchen the other day, i have not thought too much about posting... rugs are tore up, they put holds in the walls dehimidifiers running, fans running, its a freakin mess.

we mopped up over 50 gallons in the kitchen, went into my living room and hallways, and into the basement with all my amps and band gear.

i will try to post Volodimire after my shower...

I know this isn't the place to ask, but I just wondered if your band kit was damaged?

Sure, that sounds great to me. I'm thinking this was a huge stash of books... perhaps you and I each decided to take a portion of them to look at or something like that and it turns out we each have something that might give us a clue.
