Game Changes

A few changes have gone live in the game.

1. Increase of buildings taken during war, by quite a bit.

This will allow very large kingdoms to be a bit more then just giant plots of open land.

2. Increase BPT.

This scales slightly with total land. It's not a huge increase, but should make it feasible to build even at large kingdom sizes, when taken in combination with change 1.

3. Slightly reduced the number of peasents needed to scumkill.

This change will only shave 5-10 turns off, but those last 5-10 turns were very frustrating for some folks.

4. Reduced temples destroyed by backlash.

The number of temples destroyed once you had a large number of temples was devastating to try and rebuild, especially once your kingdom got large. While it should still be a sting, it shouldn't make people cry anymore. The amount each race gets a backlash has not changed.

These numbers were brainstormed a bit, but that doesn't mean they're perfect. As such, please feel free to use this thread to discuss that changes above, relay your experience with them, and let us know if they seem good, bad, need tweaked, etc.

The only real downside of doing these changes is it's a fairly big change mid-game. So if you weren't already, consider this a testing Age, hopefully future Ages (be them continuation of v1 code, or our upgraded v2 code) will be a bit more stable and enjoyable.

Thought it best to ellaborate on the BRT changes so that you know what to expect.

BRT starts at the classic

4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

At 25,000 acres the minimum BRT will increase from 4 to 6

6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32

At 50,000 acres the minimum BRT will increase from 6 to 8

8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34

At 100,000 acres the minimum BRT will increase from 8 to 10

10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36

Based on some comments in the 'The Good, The Bad, The Ugly' thread, we have just made a substantial change to attacking and defending while at war.

You will no longer take or destroy forts when performing a controlled strike, unless you are an Elemental.

They will - as before - still count in the defensive total of your target, however.
Programming is 10% science, 25% ingenuity and 65% getting the ingenuity to work with the science

I am currently writing a new script to update the scrolls using the v1 code on the v2 portal.

I decided to add a new ranking object: bravery

Bravery works pretty simply, each time the ranking script runs, it will be edited.

If you are alive and out of NPP you get +25

Or.. if you are alive, but the largest kingdom in the game, you get +5

Or.. if you are alive, but the largest kingdom in your faith, you get +10

Or.. If you are alive and in NPP you get -2

Or.. If you are dead you get -1

I will also add bravery points for leaving NPP and for declaring war

Assuming you spend 30 mins a day out of NPP you should get positive bravery.

I also made the points system a little more varied up the top.

100 points

ranks 2 to 5
from 95 to 86 points

ranks 6 to 15
from 84 to 66 points

ranks 16 to 30
from 65 to 58 points

ranks 31 to 50
from 56 to 50 points

ranks 51 to 100
from 47 to 32 points

ranks 101 to 200
from 29 to 11 points

ranks 201 to 500
from 10 to 6 points

ranks 501 to 700
from 5 to 4 points

ranks 701 to 1000
from 3 to 2 points

or

1 point

These will be in place when the v2 portal opens with v1 conquest

I have ammended the time limit required to restart using the 'restart' screen.

You can delete on this screen if you have:

0 turns
or
less than 2000 acres
or
still in NPP

You will still need to also meet the standard deletion requirements.

You must not have:

an active declaration of war
or
have attacked (or been attacked) in the last 12 hours
Programming is 10% science, 25% ingenuity and 65% getting the ingenuity to work with the science
