Keep Bloodbath, reduce the turn count or close it?

Post by Kaz » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:13 pm

Bloodbath seems pretty much inbalanced.

Probably because high turn-rate games don't actually work.

What do you guys think.
  • Keep it?
  • Close it?
  • Reduce the turn per hour?
  • Something else?

Personally, bloodbath is my favorite game type, as is.

I like the bounties--in Dom, it's not worth going for the kill. You hit hard, you maim, then you move on because the excess turns it costs to secure the kill aren't worth it unless you're sorc killing a stronger opponent you can't break, which is more a strategic move.

You say it's unbalanced, but I'm not really seeing it. When more than 3 people are playing, it's a very active and crazy game. When Asoc, Stained, and I were fighting for the top, it was constant action. However, with Asoc not playing Bloodbath, and Stained rage quitting, it just leaves me, Bandit, and someone else who doesn't appear to be very strong yet at playing. (they scouted me today, got through, but didn't do anything with it, prompting a land grab against them. I noticed they didn't have much open land an only a 14 build rate. Kinda rough for expansion.

The biggest pro for bloodbath, however, is that I can play once a day with max turns. I know some people complain about the excess turns and the ease of killing opponents (especially having the turns of two kingdoms at your disposal + bounties). I wouldn't be against making bloodbath a "solo" game--I initially played it as solo until someone used to kingdoms to take me down--so I decided to fight turns with turns. Ultimately, though, it is the fact that with a 16 hr encamp, I can play daily for a few minutes and have max turns.

Honestly, if be a lot happier with DOM if it worked the same way--even with the smaller turn cap. It throws my schedule upside down to actually play every 36 hours, logging in at 12 to re-encamp, etc.

I can see how bounties can feasibly make things uneven. I'd hate to see them go completely. I really miss them out of DOM. I could, however, understand reducing their bonuses some if people complain about them.

People complain about the bounties, but anyone can get them. I like any game where I can kill 5-6 kingdoms in a night, and moreover, where those people are back in the mix in a couple days instead of weeks - there is no safety in size, anyone can kill anyone ESPECIALLY with bounties.

Its like that oldskool game at evernight, what you now call conquest. EXCEPT.....you never, ever run out of turns....technically. You can get more. Awesome :)

I need to talk my brother into joining this shit, another vic.....player would be awesome. or five or six more...

Or.......

Make another (solo kingdom), low turn per hour game, with full turns(smaller turn cap) every 24 hours...

Which you could then eventually turn into guilds! YAY!

I myself Do not think Bloodbath need to be change at all. It is a fun game to play. I do not have to wait 2 day to play my turns. Conqust is to slow this one is not. So do not change it. I would think more people would want to play this game. Why I do not know.
This is my view on things!

Don't worry dude, this is a pretty old thread, I wasn't going to close it unless loads of people suggested doing so.

I've seen your username in the game database for years, glad to see that you've finally posted ;)
