Re: And with that...
I've gotten quite a few messages and emails - and thank you for them. They have been very thoughtful and very much appreciated. No, I don't think I'm coming back. My life has been taking me away from here anyway, though there have been times (like the divorce I'm facing now) that I really needed you...

And with that...
I am leaving this community. A few of you know how to contact me. A few of you may ask me how to do so. (Grunt, for example. I'll check PMs for a short while.) However, I am done with being one of the last US lefties here, and really frightened about what this place is turning into. That said, I wil...

Ker Than for National Geographic News Published April 9, 2010 Like part of a cosmic Russian doll, our universe may be nested inside a black hole that is itself part of a larger universe. That’s certainly the case with a letter written by Cambridge University, though this time it’s not a criticism of irresponsible lending and investment. Instead Britain’s banks have been told to g...

Ultimately, yes. I look at this as both good practice and a way to raise that kid right without having to change any more diapers.

Re: I'm a (rental) dad.
The rental ended today. Ruben's sister got a studio apartment funded in part by the city. Building is only for young mothers. They just moved everything out.
I'm really going to miss that kid.
(But at least we get to be the spoiling-type uncles now.)
